Frequently Asked Questions

There are many different types of senior living communities based on the level of care needed for the individual: 55+ active adult living, independent living, assisted living, memory care, short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, home care and adult day programs. After assessing the needs of a resident, communities may assist with daily living, life enrichment, supervision, and transportation, among other services and amenities.

At the present time, The Reserve at Spring Hill offers assisted living, short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing, hospice care and respite care; however, we are embarking on a major expansion to add independent living and memory care to become a Life Plan Community that offers the full continuum of care (i.e., a CCRC).

The Reserve at Spring Hill is a not-for-profit and mission-driven organization. While we charge fees for residents to stay, not-for-profit organizations reinvest these funds back into the costs of running the community. Essentially, every time you pay for a loved one to stay at a not-for-profit community, these payments go directly back to the community after expenses.

Conversely, for-profit communities are private businesses and thus accountable to stakeholders or the large national chains to which they belong. While these organizations may provide high-quality services and amenities, they are designed to turn a profit from rent and fees.

A resident’s independence is always at the front of minds for all team members at The Reserve at Spring Hill. Our care is based on a person-centric approach that focuses on all dimensions of wellness. A team approach is used when creating and enacting care plans which include input from nursing, life enrichment, social work, culinary, family members, and, most importantly, the resident. Concerns related to safety and security are a common reason that many seniors and their families consider communal living. Senior living communities place a high priority on protective measures to safeguard residents from harm of any kind. Older adults who are looking for more safety and security find that communities like ours meet their needs by taking comprehensive measures to reduce risks, both indoors and outdoors. We also provide services most needed by seniors with enhanced accessibility and convenience, thus decreasing the risk of accidents.
